Enterprise Data Architect -Cloud & Lakehouse

Role Overview

We are looking for a senior Data Architect to own the end-to-end architecture of an enterprise data platform covering source integration, Lakehouse, semantic and consumption layers, governance, security and AI-ready data foundations.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the target-state Enterprise Data Architecture.
• Design ingestion, Bronze/Silver/Gold Lakehouse, semantic and consumption layers.
• Define batch, streaming, API and CDC integration patterns.
• Own conceptual, logical and physical data modelling standards.
• Design relational, dimensional, Data Vault, canonical and semantic models.
• Embed metadata, lineage, classification, DQ and MDM into architecture.
• Design Microsoft Purview and MDM integration.
• Define security architecture covering:
  • RBAC / ABAC
  • Encryption
  • Customer-managed keys
  • Network isolation
  • Data residency
• Ensure compliance with UAE PDPL, Dubai Data Law and DESC ISR.
• Architect governed data products and data-sharing patterns.
• Support AI/GenAI foundations including governed data products and feature/vector/search layers.
• Chair architecture reviews and approve solution designs.
• Maintain Architecture Decision Records.
• Define performance, capacity and FinOps guidelines.
• Coach architects and engineering teams on architecture standards.

Required Skills

• 12+ years in data management / engineering with significant Data Architecture experience.
• Strong experience architecting enterprise cloud data platforms.
• Azure / Microsoft Fabric / Databricks / Synapse.
• Lakehouse / Medallion Architecture.
• Expert data modelling.
• Microsoft Purview.
• Enterprise MDM.
• Data security, IAM, encryption and residency.
• Strong knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK2 / TOGAF or equivalent.
• UAE data regulatory experience preferred.
• Excellent executive stakeholder-management skills
