Role Overview
Responsible for managing complete lifecycle of tools & moulds, including documentation, preventive maintenance, tracking, and ensuring availability for uninterrupted production across extrusion and injection moulding processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain centralized documentation of all moulds, dies, and tools (history cards, specifications, drawings)
- Track mould life cycle, shot count, and maintenance schedules
- Plan and execute preventive & breakdown maintenance of moulds and extrusion dies
- Coordinate with production team for mould change planning and readiness
- Monitor and improve tool performance, life, and efficiency
- Handle tool inspection, trials, and validation after maintenance
- Maintain spare parts inventory for moulds and dies
- Liaise with tool room / vendors for new mould development and repairs
- Analyze recurring issues and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA)
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and preservation of moulds and tools
- Maintain records in ERP/SAP systems
Key Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of Injection Moulds & Extrusion Dies (PVC/CPVC)
- Hands-on experience in tool maintenance, troubleshooting, and refurbishment
- Understanding of material flow, shrinkage, and tooling design basics
- Familiarity with CAD drawings and tooling specifications
- Experience in maintenance planning & documentation systems
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and root cause analysis
Qualifications
- Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Plastics / Polymer Engineering
Preferred Industry Background
- PVC Pipes & Fittings Manufacturing
- Plastic Processing (Injection Moulding / Extrusion)
