General Manager-Plant Operation- Polyfilms

The GM- Operations will oversee end-to-end plant operations, including Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Safety. The role focuses on driving operational excellence, process efficiency, and cost optimization while ensuring compliance with quality and statutory standards. Candidates from the PVC, polymer, flooring, or plastic processing industries will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage overall plant operations across Production, Maintenance, Quality, Logistics, and EHS.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies to achieve production, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, customer requirements, and statutory regulations (Factory Act, EHS norms, etc.).
  • Coordinate production planning with PPC to meet domestic and export demand.
  • Drive Lean, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives for continuous improvement and waste reduction.
  • Optimize utilization of manpower, machines, and materials to maximize efficiency.
  • Foster a zero-accident safety culture through robust EHS practices.
  • Review MIS reports (production, scrap, downtime, cost) and take corrective actions.
  • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams for seamless plant operations.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and ensure timely raw material availability.
  • Support management in capacity expansion, automation, and technology upgradation initiatives.

  • Proven leadership in managing large-scale manufacturing operations.
  • Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement tools.
  • Strong financial acumen in budgeting, cost control, and ROI-based decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, Polymer Science, or related field.
  • 15–20 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior operational leadership role.
  • Experience in PVC, Polymer, Flooring, or Plastic Processing industry is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing Lean and Quality improvement systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Oversee Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain functions.
  • Lead performance evaluation, coaching, and leadership development of senior and mid-level teams.
  • Ensure effective manpower planning and continuous skill enhancement across the plant.
