Job Purpose
To manage complete manufacturing operations and achieve production targets with optimum productivity, quality, manpower and machine utilisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production plans based on customer requirements and dispatch schedules.
- Manage overall seamless tube production, machine loading, utilisation, start-up, changeover and shutdown.
- Monitor OEE, cycle time, output/hour, output/shift and machine-wise production.
- Identify bottlenecks, reduce machine stoppages, unplanned downtime and changeover time.
- Control rejection, scrap and rework through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Manage operators, helpers, supervisors and production executives, including shift planning, manpower allocation, training, attendance and discipline.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Printing, Tool Room/Mould, Stores, PPC and Development teams.
- Ensure production plan achievement of 95–100% and on-time production as per dispatch schedules.
- Drive productivity improvement through Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S and TPM.
Key KPIs
- Monthly production: 1.20 crore tubes.
- OEE and machine utilisation as per approved plant targets.
- Production rejection within approved targets.
- Continuous improvement in manpower productivity and changeover time.
- Minimum unplanned downtime.
- Production plan achievement: ≥95–100%.
- On-time production as per dispatch plan: 100%.
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma in Plastics, Polymer, Mechanical or Production Engineering.
- 12+ of experience in plastic packaging/tube manufacturing.
- Strong experience in extrusion/seamless tube manufacturing and high-volume production.
- Strong manpower and shift-management capabilities.
- Knowledge of OEE, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S and TPM.
