Trainer – EDA Tools & Design Automation

Job Purpose

To provide practical training on EDA tools and semiconductor design workflows, covering simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, physical implementation and verification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and maintain Linux-based EDA training environments.
  • Train learners on simulation, synthesis, STA, place-and-route and physical verification.
  • Demonstrate open-source and commercial EDA tools.
  • Develop tool-based assignments, practical exercises and troubleshooting labs.
  • Train participants on design constraints, tool reports and debugging techniques.
  • Support capstone projects and technical assessments.
  • Maintain documentation for software installation, configurations and lab environments.
  • Troubleshoot EDA tool and software environment issues.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5–12 years of experience in EDA, semiconductor design, verification or physical design.
  • Strong knowledge of Verilog/SystemVerilog, synthesis, STA, P&R, DRC/LVS and simulation.
  • Good understanding of SPICE fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in Linux and shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of version-control systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Cadence, Synopsys or Siemens EDA tools is preferred.
Preferred Background
  • Experience with EDA vendors, ASIC design companies, semiconductor organisations or VLSI research/academic labs.
  • Strong practical exposure to industry-standard EDA workflows.
