Job Summary: The New Product Development (NPD) Engineer in the Process Engineering Department plays a critical role in driving innovation and efficiency within the organization by leading the development and implementation of new processes for manufacturing new products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop assembly support tools such as stencils, wave pallets, jigs, and fixtures for PCB assembly processes.
- Expertise in PCB assembly processes including SMT, MI, FI, reflow profiling, conformal coating, and product validation.
- Interpret customer requirements, drawings, and testing needs, with a focus on installation, validation, and testing procedures.
- Development and optimization of manufacturing processes for new products from concept to production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, design engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure alignment of NPD activities with project goals and timelines.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges and propose solutions during the NPD process.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness of manufacturing processes.
- Prepare technical documentation including process specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal quality management systems.
- Foster collaboration and effective communication with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment of objectives and expectations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in electronics, communications, or Instrumentation.
- Knowledge of process and product design
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- SMT tool & Fixture verification.
- BoM Scrubbing and engineering design practices.
