We are looking for an experienced Logistics Manager with strong experience in the solar module manufacturing industry to manage inbound and outbound logistics operations, international shipping, customs clearance, domestic transportation and plant logistics.
The role will focus on ensuring uninterrupted material supply to the manufacturing plant while optimizing logistics cost, delivery timelines and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Logistics
- Manage international shipping through sea, rail and road.
- Negotiate freight rates with shipping lines, freight forwarders and logistics partners.
- Secure container and vessel capacity during peak periods.
- Manage shipping documentation, Bills of Lading and LC-related requirements.
Plant Logistics
- Manage inbound logistics for cells, glass, backsheets, frames and other components.
- Coordinate warehouse operations, inventory accuracy and material feeding to production lines.
- Ensure safe handling and transportation of solar cells to prevent micro-cracks and damage.
- Optimize warehouse layout, storage capacity and material movement.
Customs & Compliance
- Manage customs clearance for imported materials, machinery and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with applicable international trade regulations, tariffs and anti-dumping requirements.
- Control demurrage, detention and port congestion costs.
- Manage relationships with customs brokers, port authorities and regulatory agencies.
Cost & Performance Management
- Prepare and manage the annual logistics budget.
- Drive logistics cost optimization, including cost-per-watt metrics.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for transit time, delivery accuracy and logistics cost.
- Identify opportunities to improve service levels and supply chain efficiency.
Candidate Profile
- 12–20 years of experience in supply chain and logistics.
- 3–5 years of leadership experience in a solar module manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience in international shipping, freight forwarding and chartering.
- Good knowledge of global shipping routes, port operations and Incoterms 2020.
- Experience with SAP and Transport Management Systems (TMS).
- Strong understanding of solar module components and their logistics requirements.
- Excellent negotiation, crisis management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional and multicultural teams.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Engineering.
Master’s degree or certifications such as CSCP / CLTD will be an advantage.
