The Plant Head will lead the complete setup and operations of the greenfield solar module manufacturing plant in Punjab, ensuring successful project execution, commissioning, and stable commercial production. The role will be responsible for driving manufacturing excellence across production, engineering, quality, supply chain, EHS, and plant administration while ensuring high productivity, operational efficiency, quality compliance, and cost optimization. The position requires strong leadership experience in large manufacturing environments along with expertise in greenfield plant setup and team building.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end greenfield plant setup including project execution, commissioning, and production ramp-up.
- Manage overall manufacturing operations for solar module production.
- Ensure achievement of production targets, yield, productivity, and operational KPIs.
- Oversee engineering, utilities, maintenance, and automation functions to ensure high equipment uptime.
- Establish manufacturing SOPs, process controls, and operational excellence systems.
- Drive quality compliance as per IEC, BIS, and customer standards.
- Monitor procurement, inventory, warehouse, and supply chain coordination for uninterrupted operations.
- Lead cost optimization initiatives across production, manpower, utilities, and consumables.
- Ensure compliance with EHS, statutory, factory, and environmental regulations.
- Build and lead high-performing cross-functional teams across manufacturing operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and process optimization.
- Manage industrial relations, workforce discipline, and employee engagement at plant level.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
- MBA preferred.
Experience
- 15+ years of experience in manufacturing operations.
- Strong experience in greenfield plant setup and manufacturing leadership roles.
- Prior experience in solar module manufacturing.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in plant operations and production management.
- Experience in solar module manufacturing processes and quality systems.
- Knowledge of engineering, maintenance, utilities, and automation systems.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and operational excellence practices.
