Section Head – Quality Assurance (Plumbing, Agri Pipes, Fittings, Water Tanks Manufacturing Plant)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Section Head AM/DM/Manager leavl of Quality Assurance to oversee the quality systems, processes, and products for a PVC/UPVC/CPVC/ASTM/HDPE/AGRI/SWR pipe & fittings, water tanks manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring all products meet stringent quality standards and continuously improving operational efficiency. This position requires a deep understanding of industry standards, and a strong background in quality management, process optimization, and cross-functional team collaboration.

Should have knoweldge and iunderstanding of  IS-4985, IS-13592, IS-4984, IS-7834, IS-12818, IS-15328, IS-15778, ASTM-D-1785, ASTM-D-441, ISO-9001:2015, and other relevant standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Assurance Metrics & Improvement: Develop and manage quality assurance metrics to monitor and enhance overall performance across production lines, ensuring adherence to company standards.

• Product Quality & Efficiency: Ensure that all manufactured products, including plumbing pipes, fittings, and water tanks, meet the defined quality and efficiency standards. Regularly inspect and test production samples to maintain quality consistency.

• Process Optimization: Collaborate closely with the plant’s QA and production teams to ensure the quality management system is well-implemented and operational procedures are followed. Identify process deviations and work with production, QA, and maintenance teams to address them.

• Supplier & Customer Quality Management: Establish clear quality requirements for external suppliers in collaboration with procurement and R&D teams. Address any quality issues raised by customers, suppliers, or internal operations, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.

• Statistical Analysis & Reporting: Record, analyze, and distribute statistical data related to product quality and process efficiency. Track progress towards quality goals and ensure that compliance objectives are met.

• Compliance & Documentation: Set and monitor quality assurance compliance targets. Create and maintain comprehensive quality documentation, including quality manuals, procedures, SOPs, and visual displays, ensuring proper understanding and adherence by all staff.

• New Product Development & Trials: Lead the quality aspect of trials for new products, ensuring that new processes and products meet the required standards from the outset. Gather feedback and ensure implementation of quality improvements as necessary.

• Customer Site Visits & Issue Resolution: In case of customer complaints, visit customer sites, investigate quality concerns, and implement corrective actions based on detailed analysis.

• Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Guide the plant in ongoing quality improvement activities, aiming for enhanced systems, processes, and overall product quality.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various internal teams, including production, maintenance, and procurement, to establish and maintain a seamless quality assurance process throughout the plant operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Educational Background: PGd/B.Tech/DP, CIPET certification preferred.

• Experience: Proven experience in managing quality assurance within a manufacturing plant, especially in the plumbing, piping, or water tank industry. Expertise in industry standards such as IS, ASTM, and ISO.

• Technical Skills: Proficient in SAP, ERP, MS Excel, MS Word, and MIS reporting. Strong documentation control and presentation skills.

• Knowledge of Standards: Familiarity with key industry standards, including IS-4985, IS-13592, IS-4984, IS-7834, IS-12818, IS-15328, IS-15778, ASTM-D-1785, ASTM-D-441, ISO-9001:2015, and other relevant standards.

• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage cross-functional teams and drive quality improvements.
