Responsibilities:
- Safeguard the entity from non-compliance with laws and regulations.
- Protect the entity from using resources for illegal activities.
- Establish and maintain effective compliance risk management and control systems, including regulatory monitoring, reporting, and sanctions.
- Provide timely advice on relevant changes in the regulatory environment.
- Promote integrity within the organization.
- Assess customer risks, investigate transaction patterns, and report irregularities.
- Foster a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
- Ensure that all employees are trained on relevant laws and regulations.
- Collaborate actively with operational and sales stakeholders to ensure teamwork and compliance with regulations and laws.
- Report when high-compliance risk issues are identified.
- Maintain an updated regulatory calendar and meet compliance-related deadlines.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Risk management experience.
- Experience managing relationships with regulatory bodies.
- Advanced knowledge of applicable regulations in the region (e.g., NDMO).
Skills:
- Ability to assess compliance and prepare required reports.
- Ability to interpret and analyze data and problem-solve.
- Strong interpersonal relationship management skills.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business management, or a related field.
